Dr. Priyanka Pereira is a postdoctoral researcher in the Lab Media & Education and in the Lab Socio-Technical Systems and Critical Data Studies at the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI). Since May 2026, she is working within the project “Tools or Masters? On the hidden curriculum of AI appropriation in schools”, together with Prof. Dr. Karsten D. Wolf and Prof. Dr. Andreas Breiter. She completed a Master’s degree in Educational Science and Technology from the University of Twente, The Netherlands. She also obtained her PhD in Educational Science and Technology from the same university, defending her thesis on Optimizing the Effectiveness of Peer Feedback in Higher Education. She then continued working at the University of Twente as a postdoctoral researcher, shifting her focus to the use of learning analytics and AI in education. Alongside her work in research, she was the Project Leader for the team working on best and worst practices for learning analytics at Npuls (the partnership between all Dutch tertiary education institutions), and she served as a Board Member for the 4TU.Centre for Engineering Education (a part of 4TU, which is a federation of the four major technical universities in the Netherlands). Prior to moving to the Netherlands, she worked as an instructional designer for over 10 years at eLearning organisations in India.
