In collaboration with the Lower Saxony regional newspaper NOZ, ZeMKI member Prof. Stephanie Geise has analyzed a series of election posters from Meppen, Lingen, and Papenburg for the upcoming local election on Sunday, September 13.
Before providing a detailed brief analysis of the individual election posters, the article addresses the relevance of election posters. Stephanie Geise explains that the reach of election posters should not be underestimated. Especially in local elections, it is therefore important to combine traditional campaigning with digital campaigning, rather than replacing the traditional approach with the digital one.
Despite recurring design choices, the brief analyses do not represent effects that apply to everyone, but rather offer a research-based interpretation of the election posters.
