In context with Elon Musk’s takeover of X, ZeMKI member Prof. Dr. Christian Katzenbach was recently quoted in the dossier “Digitalwende” of the Süddeutsche Zeitung and will be heard on Deutschlandfunk Kultur on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
In an article by Matthias Punz in the Süddeutsche Zeitung of October 29, 2024 entitled “Elon Musk, X and the US election campaign”, ZeMKI member Prof. Dr. Christian Katzenbach was quoted in relation to Elon Musk’s takeover of X (formerly Twitter):
“‘There is no sign of Musk’s reluctance to moderate controversial content when posts on X criticize or attack him personally,’ said Christian Katzenbach, researcher at HIIG and professor of communication and media studies at the University of Bremen. Such posts are blocked immediately instead. ‘His own posts are flushed into the timeline of all users, whether they follow him or not.'”
Prof. Dr. Christian Katzenbach will also be speaking on this topic on Saturday, November 2, 2020, from 1 pm to 2 pm on Deutschlandfunk Kultur’s “Breitband” programme on the topic of “From network to propaganda machine? Twitter/X after two years of Musk”.
