Two members of ZeMKI have been newly appointed to the editorial board of the journal gamevironments: Christian Schwarzenegger and Karsten D. Wolf will strengthen the scientific panel of the gaming journal.
gamevironments is dedicated to the systematic research of video games and their significance in increasingly mediatized societies. The focus is on questions of value negotiation, social constructions, and media communication processes. The journal assumes that the growing cultural and social influence of video games—and their interactions with other media—requires an independent and analytically grounded academic discourse. As an academic, peer-reviewed online journal, gamevironments sees itself as an open platform for precisely these discussions: It brings together both established research approaches and new perspectives on the topic of video games in the context of value formation in culture and society.
